In its raw, unprocessed state, cacao is one of the most nutrient-rich foods on the planet.* Raw cacao has abundant vitamins and minerals that are necessary for good health, such as iron, calcium, potassium, zinc, phosphorous, vitamins A, B1, C, D and E, and living enzymes. Additionally, it is the highest whole food source of magnesium. Studies show that magnesium supports the heart, increases brainpower, relaxes menstrual cramping, relaxes muscles, increases flexibility, helps build strong bones and increases alkalinity. Raw Cacao is full of antioxidant flavonoids which promote heart health and help our bodies eliminate toxins. Further, raw cacao also helps to release neurotransmitters, such as serotonin. It stimulates the secretion of endorphins, which produce pleasurable sensations and phenylethylamine, a mood booster, and releases anandamide which promotes elation.
We use organic coconut sugar as our sweetener, which is a mineral-rich, low glycemic sweetener (GI-35) made from the nectar of the coconut tree. It has a considerably lower glycemic index (35) than agave (42), honey (55), and cane sugar (68). According to studies that have been conducted, coconut sugar contains significantly more potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, phosphorous, nitrogen and sodium than brown or white sugar.
For added creaminess, five of our chocolate varieties contain coconut. Coconut contains lauric acid which helps support healthy metabolism and thyroid functions, making it ones of the healthiest sources of saturated fats. Studies show that coconut can help our bodies resist viruses and bacteria, and fight off yeast, fungus, and candida. In addition coconut can increase digestion and aids the body’s absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
Ashwagandha root is an adaptogen herb that supports healthy adrenal function and has over 4,000 years of traditional use in it’s native India. Also known as “Indian Ginseng”, Ashwagandha has been shown to help regulate both thyroid and adrenal function and is widely used to reduce the effects of adrenal fatigue.
Adaptogens like Ashwagandha support the ability of an organism to cope with stress by normalizing cortisol levels. Ashwagandha also helps boost immunity and brain function.

Also known as Alaea, red Alaea is a naturally occurring, mineral-rich Hawaiian volcanic clay that is rich in iron.
